155: Post Traumatic

Synopsis

There are rumors that Dagan Harris has eyes that fill with black and send him into a preternatural rage. Once vowed to his wife to be a man of peace, Dagan is called into the fray of World War II. Here Dagan learns there are many strange abilities within him, all while he watches too many fall in the carnage. Forever surviving the impossible, Dagan is met with villains who claim to puppeteer the politics of the world for ends that no religious texts do justice. Follow Dagan and his allies as they challenge the demons ushering the world into a dark age of nuclear politics in this action packed odyssey.

The Good

Art (by Ben Perkins) = the scenes with the magic (ex: the birds in a tree crowding Dagan, people on fire calling to him) stood out to me probably the most.

It was magical/fantasy story – enjoyed the magic.

Even though, I was confused at points I liked what unfolded in the story.

The Bad

There was a lot of exposition which got confusing at points because the story jumps around. I also feel the story is not done so it has not truly all came together (maybe? It is a time jumper story so I do wonder if a reread would bring it more all together).

Thoughts

I wonder if my lack of knowledge of World War II made me miss things.

I would read the second/continuation in the series because I want to see how it all comes together/ends.

I received this book from the author (Pete Fitz) through a goodreads giveway.
